NE 50th Street in the University District to Reopen

Northeast 50th Street in the University District will reopen to through traffic late today (Friday, November 9). Drivers can now enjoy the new street surface.

Northeast 50th Street will no longer be closed to through traffic for this project; however, there will be some occasional lane closures. Some small areas of paving remain; other work involves sidewalks, street trees, streetlight poles and traffic signal poles. The entire project is scheduled for completion this spring.

This is a joint project of Seattle Transportation and Seattle City Light.  The goal is to increase safety, to better manage traffic during peak periods and special events, and to improve electrical utilities.
