Wedgwood
Neighborhood Exchange hosts orientation on May 24
We
are fortunate to live in a neighborhood with such a wealth of skills,
interests, and compassion. When these assets are shared locally, our community
grows stronger and doors open to new community initiatives.
Several
of your Wedgwood neighbors have been meeting regularly to discuss ways to
facilitate this type of community building.
Each of us is enthusiastic about the potential of a "neighborhood
exchange" system to strengthen bonds among neighbors.
The
neighborhood exchange we envision would provide:
* an organized
and flexible way for neighbors to share and exchange skills and resources
* opportunities to participate in Exchange
potlucks and other events
* a directory of goods and services offered
by Exchange members
* a great way to meet your neighbors while
meeting your needs!
In
the last few months, we have researched examples of existing exchange systems
and have developed a model to try out in a pilot project. We believe Wedgwood
is well-suited for a vital neighborhood exchange and welcome your
participation.
For
those interested in finding out more about the Wedgwood Neighborhood Exchange
and how to participate in the pilot project, we are hosting a free orientation
dinner and meeting on Thursday, May 24, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Wedgwood
Presbyterian Church, (NE 80th St and 35th Ave NE).

more details and to RSVP, please contact Julie Willaford at 525-8521 or
