Annie's Playground at Meadowbrook Auction

The Friends of “Annie’s Playground”, a nonprofit neighborhood organization raising funds to renovate the old Meadowbrook Playground will be holding a fundraising dinner and auction Saturday, May 17th, 2003 at the Meadowbrook Community Center. The Friends of Annie's Playground are currently soliciting donations for the auction. The unofficial title for the project, “Annie’s Playground”, was inspired by the memory of a neighborhood child who loved to play at the playground. The Friends of Annie's Playground is coordinating its efforts with Seattle Parks, which is also renovating the Meadowbrook Playfields in 2003-04. The Annie’s Playground Fund is now at $55,000, with a goal of $75,000 (which will be applied toward a Neighborhood Matching Fund grant). This money will be used for new playground equipment for kids of all ages, as well as art and landscaping to enhance the play area.
