03/15/02 Seattle P-Patch's quarterly publication is searching for writers from north, central and southeast Seattle to explore life in P-Patch gardens. The City of Seattle's P-Patch Program and the Friends of P-Patch non-profit organization have been preserving community garden green space for 30 years now. The P-Patch Post represents the gardens, the gardeners, and the sponsoring organizations, with news, organic gardening advice, stories, poems, and reports. We're currently searching for volunteer "district correspondents"
who could report on personalities, events, communities, garden news, and
garden art at the various north-end and central Seattle P-Patches. Organic
gardening knowledge is helpful but not essential. Contributions are guided
by the P-Patch Post editorial committee, published once a quarter, and
distributed to 1,700 P-Patch members and contributors. Publication format
is 11x17, 8 pages, spot color. For a sample publication and more information,
contact the P-Patch Post editor, Leah Mattheis, at journey_woman@yahoo.com.
