The Princeton Bridge is Opening!

At 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 13th, 2002, Mayor Nickels and the Seattle Department of Transportation will officially open the Princeton Bridge and connect Hawthorne Hills to Sandpoint Way and area businesses. Please come join the Mayor and City Staff to mark the completion of construction to Seattle's newest bridge and be one of the first to walk, bike or drive across.

The new bridge is similar in design to the former structure with one lane of traffic in each direction and a pedestrian sidewalk on the structure's west side.

Metro Route 74 is scheduled to begin service on the pre-construction route across the bridge the following week.

Please note that even though the bridge is being opened to traffic, there is still work going on at the site and the Burke-Gilman Trail will remained closed for a few more weeks.
