Dear All,

The RHS Design Team Meeting of yesterday was a major disappointment. The Seattle School Disrtict is proceeding along with demolishing the original gyms, turning the auditorium into a library, and now is proposing to demolish the complete west side of the 1928 addition, all in the name of cost over run and the old standby: program. I believe the district will continue to stonewall the situation with the Landmark Board and the board will roll over and play dead. The district is making a mockery of the Landmark Designation of June 5, and proceeding as if nothing happened. And I believe the majority of the Landmark Board will be whimps and allow this to happen.

If you want to show your disapproval of what is happening at RHS, it is necessary for you to show up and speak at the next Landmark Borad meeting where the district will once again make a presentation to the board. This meeting is on November 20, at 3:30 on the 10th floor of the Arctic Building. As the date gets closer I will let you know when during the meeting the presentation will actually be made, most likely toward the end of the meeting.
