Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

The United Way of King County, along with the University of Washington, invites you to participate in the 3rd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, Monday, January 20th. It is anticipated that there will be over 1,200 volunteers from the university student body, faculty and staff to provide service to local organizations. Due to the weather, most projects should be done indoors. All materials for the project should also be provided by the organization requesting volunteers. Project site coordinators are invited to a Kick-off Rally at the University of Washington with University volunteers. The Rally will start at 8a.m. with coffee and rolls, and will end before 9am. The rally is an opportunity to meet the volunteers and direct them to your site. Volunteers would arrive at the project site around 9:30a.m., and would work until 2:30pm. To obtain an application form for volunteers, contact Aaron Hoard at the UW at 206-221-7684 or ahorad@u.washington.edu. For additional information, contact Schaylee Esparza or Kirstin Ruf (kruf@uwkc.org) from United Way of King County at 206-461-3777.
